Our programs provide direct assistance to individuals needing support related to housing navigation, food resources, health and wellness. We recognize that meeting basic needs is essential for our community to thrive, so creating better access to these services is our priority.
El Mercadito (The Little Market)
El Mercadito (The Little Market) is a community food pantry operated by Mission Action, offering essential and culturally appropriate groceries to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Our market-style pantry provides a variety of fresh produce, grains, proteins, and other staples so members can prepare healthy, culturally relevant meals at home.
Due to construction, our distribution schedule has changed:
- New Day: Saturdays
- New Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Frequency: Distribution is now divided into two groups, with each group receiving food every other week.
- Eligibility: Families must reside in ZIP code 94110 and provide proof of residence.
Launched in October 2023, Arcoiris is a culturally responsive food program providing free food boxes to low-income LGBTQ+ San Franciscans. Like El Mercadito, Arcoiris centers dignity and cultural relevance by offering foods that reflect the diverse identities and traditions of our community.
We work in partnership with local organizations to deliver these food boxes directly to individuals and families, ensuring access to nourishing, affirming meals. Together, we are building food justice through collective action.
Community Wellness Program (Nuestro Bienestar)
Community Wellness Program (Nuestro Bienestar) utilizes a Health Promoter model to ensure that all Latinx and Indigenous people living in San Francisco are connected to the services and care they need. Our team of Health Promoters links clients to medical care, psychosocial support, economic relief, food assistance, legal aid, vocational services, and more.
Now located at Casa Quezada, the program continues to provide health promotion services such as care plan identification, referrals, and health education to meet stabilization needs.
Access Point
The Mission Access Point is one of several primary entry points for adults experiencing homelessness in the city. These programs connect clients to the San Francisco Coordinated Entry system, which is the overall system of programs and housing opportunities.
Clients can call or visit the Access Point to complete an assessment for housing. If eligible, clients will be referred to an appropriate housing program. Access Point staff will support clients with coordinating the documents and steps needed for move-in. For clients who are not eligible for housing placement, Access Point staff will provide problem solving services to explore and identify the best potential options available.

Aid & Subsidy
Aid & Subsidy Program The Aid & Subsidy Program supports families facing housing insecurity by providing stipends to landlords to help cover monthly rental payments specifically assisting mixed-status families living in RAD and HOPE SF housing programs, particularly those who are low to extremely low-income. To qualify, families must face a severe rent burden, typically paying more than 50% of their monthly income toward rent.
Mission Action collaborates closely with social service providers and case managers to ensure that families not only receive rental assistance but also have access to additional resources they may need for long-term success.
