Community Leadership Training - photo of a group of people holding certificates

Over four weeks, 16 community members from across Mission Action’s programs came together to learn, build relationships, and strengthen their leadership skills. Mission Action has long believed that change can only occur when the people most impacted by inequality are guiding decision-making and informing policy and practice. This training is one of a handful of strategies we’re rolling out so that individual struggles can be transformed into collective action, fostering long-term change.

The 16-hour training created a space for participants to reflect on their roles as community leaders, identify ways to strengthen their networks, and build collective power. The series included four modules covering political education, immigrant rights, workers’ rights, and housing rights.

The program strengthened relationships, built confidence, and equipped participants with the knowledge and tools to advocate for themselves, support their neighbors, and take on leadership roles within their communities. We look forward to seeing this cohort continue to organize and uplift others for our collective, greater good.
